Ebola Outreach and Prevention |
|
As the 2015 crisis continued to wreck havoc on the country, the leaders of Gbeworbu selflessly went from village to village to hold informal informational meetings. During these meetings leaders would disseminate information outlined by the WHO in an event of a possible Ebola case. Once explained, locals agreed to cease activities that might spread the disease if someone were infected. Additionally, Africa Yes! was able to provide funds for medical resources and protective gear to hand out within the area. Thankfully, although there were a few cases less than 10 miles away, Gbeworbu and the 30 surrounding villages had zero cases of Ebola.
Today, Africa Yes! continues to fight against the harm that Ebola has caused by supporting 14 children left orphaned due to the crisis. Food, shelter, school fees and uniforms are provided by the generous donations
